Kentucky Donut Shop by Tiny Heirloom

Jamie is a personal trainer and created a healthier donut with minimal sugar to sell at gyms, sporting events, and competitions. She and her business partner, Baylie, hired Tiny Heirloom to build a mobile donut shop so they could travel around the country and sell their donuts. The shop also has a residential section with playroom, two lofts, and bathroom.

The exterior of the 250-square-foot mobile shop has a mix of cedar and pine siding, a splash of blue, and gradient tongue-and-groove siding around the corners. There are nine windows around the shop, including a 5.5-foot casement window above the serving counter.

In the 125-square-foot commercial kitchen are full-size industrial appliances, custom cabinets, stainless steel countertops, and stainless steel wall panels. Also included are industrial light fixtures and a beetle kill accent wall.

Baylie and Jamie each have a young son, so the Tiny Heirloom team installed a 6-foot window in the wall between the commercial and residential areas. This gives them a full view of the play area so they can keep an eye on the boys while working.

In the residential area is a living space with laminate flooring, tongue-and-groove pine walls, beetle kill pine ceilings, a skylight, and a kitchenette with stainless steel sink, birch countertop, and under counter refrigerator.

A platform with built-in storage provides 50-cubic-feet of storage space for the boys’ toys. Hickory ladders fit over the storage area and lead up to the two lofts. Each loft is 55-square-feet and has two 6-foot windows and a custom baby gate.

A 20-square-foot bathroom is equipped with a 2’x3′ shower, floating vanity with slim-line sink, and toilet.
