From New Zealand’s Build Tiny is the Sonnenschein Tiny House, a 7.2-meter (approx 24-foot) tiny home with skylight and wood-burning fireplace.
The Sonnenschein (German for “Sunshine”) was built using Annapolis Blue vinyl cladding for the exterior, double glazed aluminum windows, lightweight poplar core plywood for the interior linings, and cork tile flooring.
In the living area is a custom storage couch that folds out into a bed. The couch has two large storage drawers and an attachment for a table. A set of cupboards is located above the couch.
Between the living room and kitchen is a compact Spiroloc wood-burning fireplace.
The kitchen features a dishwasher drawer, gas oven and range with venting hood, slide out drawers for extra counter space, refrigerator, and custom chopping board insert that fits over the sink.
A walking platform next to the queen bed provides headroom so the owners can stand up next to the bed. At the end of the platform is a wardrobe with room for hanging clothes, plus there are storage cubbies and drawers that provide a partial privacy wall at the end of the bed. Above the bed is a skylight.
Across from the master bedroom loft is a storage loft with ladder access. The loft is large enough to fit a single mattress if the owners want to use it as a guest room.
The bathroom has white tiled walls, a full-size shower with steam dome, several storage options, and Bambooloo composting toilet. There is also a washer/dryer combo so it doubles as the laundry room.
