Falcon’s Folly, a vibrant and serene tiny house, is tucked away alongside a historic barn on two wooded acres of Appalachian wilderness in Black Mountain, North Carolina. The home is available as a nightly rental.

This delightful retreat is conveniently situated just a short drive from several key locations: 10 minutes from Black Mountain’s downtown area, 20 minutes from Asheville, and a mere 25 minutes from the scenic Chimney Rock and Lake Lure.

This tiny house, a creation of Perch & Nest based on their Roost36 design, sits at the edge of a 15-acre mountain farm and promises a distinctive and peaceful mountain retreat in Western North Carolina.

The interior of Falcon’s Folly, spanning 36 feet, is surprisingly spacious and well-appointed. It features two lofted sleeping areas, one with a queen bed and the other with a full bed, each offering a cozy and semi-private sleeping experience.

The queen bed is accessible via a narrow staircase, while the full bed is situated above the porch, reached by a wall-mounted pipe ladder. Prospective guests should be comfortable with climbing to ensure a safe and enjoyable stay, particularly if traveling with children.

The living space of Falcon’s Folly is thoughtfully arranged, providing a living room, a dedicated work area, and a fully equipped kitchen. The kitchen boasts an induction cooktop, a convection oven/microwave, and a charming vintage refrigerator/freezer.

For entertainment and convenience, the house is equipped with Wi-Fi, a 40-inch Roku TV, and a combination washer/dryer. Linens, dishes, and a coffee maker are also provided to make your stay comfortable.

The outdoor area of Falcon’s Folly is equally inviting, featuring two porches, a fire pit, a picnic table, a hammock, and various games. The tiny house is enveloped by a pond and the headwaters of the Broad River, creating a tranquil and natural setting.

Falcon’s Folly is designed to accommodate 1-2 people comfortably, but can also welcome small families or groups of up to 4 people. Its wilderness location means guests can expect to encounter a range of Appalachian wildlife such as black bears, bobcats, and coyotes, and should be prepared for the unpredictable mountain weather.
