With its butterfly roof and large windows, the Swallowtail by The Tiny House Company provides a bright living space with modern aesthetic.
The Australian company maximized cross-ventilation and views while leaving an open floor plan for arranging furniture and decor.
The butterfly roof forms a box gutter with downspout that is hidden by a paulownia timber screen and can stay connected during transport. The modern exterior consists of black stained plywood, corrugated metal, and clear-finished ply and color panel accents.
Inside the 24-foot Swallowtail is a mixed-use loft space with retractable ladder and a living room with queen size sleeper sofa.
The home was designed around Ikea’s modular system of cabinetry and furniture, allowing the owners to add and rearrange furniture as their needs change over time.
The galley kitchen is outfitted with a gas cooktop, oven, and under counter refrigerator.
