The Sage Cabin, nestled in Ontario, Canada’s Haliburton Forest and Wild Life Reserve, offers a peaceful retreat amidst nature.
Set on a cleared campsite, this cabin is part of a trio of micro cabins, spaced about 100 meters apart. Each cabin provides a sense of seclusion, while still giving guests the reassurance of nearby neighbors. Along with a fire pit, BBQ, and picnic table, these cabins ensure simple yet comfortable outdoor living.
Guests staying at Sage Cabin gain access to 100,000 acres of wilderness, making it a prime spot for outdoor enthusiasts. From April to November, you can explore more than 400 kilometers of hiking and mountain biking trails right from your doorstep. In the winter months, the cabin comes with a snowmobile pass to access the well-maintained trails for snowy adventures.
After deer hunting season in mid-November, access to the cabin becomes hike-in or snowmobile/ATV-only. The roughly 20-minute hike is manageable, and a sled and snowshoes are provided to make the trek easier. If you’d prefer to avoid the hike, you can opt for a shuttling service, available from mid-November to mid-March, for an additional fee.
Whether you’re visiting for the hiking, the biking, or the winter trails, Sage Cabin provides an ideal base for an immersive stay in the wilderness.
