In 2000 Grant Emans and his brother started their journeys in the construction industry in New South Wales, Australia. Ten years later they started Designer Eco Homes so they could specialize in environmental sustainability, then five years later they took the next step and became part of the Tiny House Movement.
We have ceased building the regular homes, and from now on will focus on the construction of tiny homes. These are incredible structures and offer the home owner the most sustainable option for housing available. They are energy efficient, eco-friendly and affordable. The versatility of a tiny home, along with their affordability allows us to create environmentally sustainable building solutions for a wider range of people. – Grant Emans
The Graduate Series 6000DL is one of their first tiny house models. The house is approximately 8′ x 20′ (600cm x 240cm) and has two lofts: one large bedroom loft and one storage/single sleeper loft. It also has a solar power system with three panels, LED lighting, double glazed windows, and a fireplace.
For the exterior they used Western Red Cedar and corrugated sheet metal for the walls, corrugated metal roofing, and a steel floor frame. The kitchen includes a four burner cooktop, oven, upper cabinets, and a refrigerator set in the storage staircase.
