Milford, Michigan-based Minimalist Homes built the Freedom shipping container house using a minimalist industrial theme to reduce its impact on the environment.
The 40′ high-cube container house is 8′ wide and 9.5′ tall, providing an extra foot of height compared to standard containers.
The exterior is a sleek, dark gray with reclaimed wood trim around the doors. A roof deck with railings creates a great outdoor spot.
The walls are insulated with R-21 closed cell spray foam, and the ceiling is insulated with R-49. The house is heated with an electric Fujitsu mini split system and has a 30 seer rating, which is one of the most energy efficient tiny homes on the market!
Inside the Freedom are hardwood floors, reclaimed wood accent pieces, and a main floor bedroom with a raised bed platform.
The kitchen has modern cabinets, granite counters, and full size stainless steel appliances including a four burner electric stove and washer/dryer combo.
