Wedge by Laney College

This net-zero tiny solar house was the winner of the Best Architecture and Best Design awards at the 2016 Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD) Tiny House Competition.

Designed and built by the Carpentry Department students at Laney College, this tiny house includes roof-mounted solar panels, standing seam roofing, continuous insulation, high-performance windows, corrugated metal, and fly ash composite siding.

The house also includes 2 sleeping lofts, custom built furniture, a full bathroom, and kitchen with convection cooktop and under-counter refrigerator.
